FOTC maintains a very close relationship with SAGA, the Southeast Alaska Guidance Association, headquartered in Juneau. SAGA supplies FOTC with office support and is expected again to sponsor an AmeriCorps volunteer for FOTC, as occurred in the 2009-2010 period.

The Kenai Safari Club generously contributed to FOTC’s efforts to support the Middle Ridge Cabin project on Wrangell Island. As discussed in Current Projects, the construction of the Middle Ridge Cabin was the second effort to build second-growth log cabins for the Tongass National Forest Service public use cabins program. The foresight and generosity of the Kenai Safari Club are greatly appreciated.

On July 21, 2010, FOTC and the Tongass National Forest Service entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) establishing a cooperative relationship between FOTC and the TNFS to advance the goal of maintaining the public use cabins in the Tongass. The MOU outline the respective expectations and duties of the parties.
